Description
Chaturanga is a low plank position where the elbows bend to a 90-degree angle, hovering the body just off the ground. Often part of Sun Salutations, this pose builds significant upper body strength, especially in the triceps, pectorals, and the stabilizing muscles around the shoulder blades. Chaturanga also demands core engagement to keep the body in a straight line. It is essentially an eccentric push-up that, when practiced correctly, tones the arms and shoulders while preparing the yogi for arm-balancing poses. Low plank pose, Four limb staff posture. Alternate plank pose
