Description
Standing Forward Bend is a deep fold at the hips that powerfully stretches the entire back of the body. In Uttanasana, the hamstrings and calves experience an intense lengthening as the crown of the head drapes toward the floor. The pose also releases tension in the lower back by gently tractioning the spine. With practice, this asana can help increase flexibility in the legs and hips while calming the nervous system through the mild inversion of the head below the heart. Forward fold, intense posture.
