Description
Revolved Marichi’s Pose (Marichyasana C) is a seated twist that engages the oblique abdominals and deep spinal muscles to rotate the torso. This twist provides a deep stretch to the outer hips and glutes (especially around the bent knee), and helps to open the chest and shoulders as the upper body turns. Seated marichyasana revolved Seated spinal twist or Half Lord of the Fishes Pose (Ardha Matsyendrasana) strongly engages the obliques and spinal erectors to achieve a deep seated twist. This posture stretches the glutes and outer thigh of the crossed leg and releases tension in the spine, while also opening the chest and shoulders as the upper body rotates.
